We are all original expressions of the DIVINE.
We are identified by our fingerprints (EACH DIFFERENT ON THE PHYSICAL LEVEL)
Each of us has a variation of PURITY (SATTWIC), PASSION (RAJASIC), and PASSIVITY (TAMASIC) qualities. Some are more pure in their eating, but violent in actions. We may have a mixture of these qualities, but once recognized, we should aim to rectify and thus improve our status.
According to Bhagwad Gita, Ch.17, verses 11, 12, and 13 OF SACRIFICES:
That sacrifice performed according to duty and scripture rules, and with no expectation of reward, is of the nature of goodness. [SATTWIC]
But that sacrifice performed for some material end or benefit or performed ostentatiously, out of pride, is of the nature of passion, O chief of Bhaaratas. [RAJASIC]
And that sacrifice performed in defiance of scriptural injunctions, in which no spiritual food is distributed, no hymns are chanted, and no remunerations are made to the priests and which is without faith – that sacrifice is of the nature of ignorance [TAMASIC]
EACH will find a place in the world, based on skills, talents, and karma that push us in the right direction. Together, our experiences help us shape our perspectives, find our purpose, and give meaning to life. EASTERN VALUES add a sweetness of FAMILY DEDICATION in life (e.g., the eldest child, after the death of his parents, avoided marriage to guarantee his brothers and sisters become doctors, lawyers, and professionals). One of my friends enjoyed his TEACHING PROFESSION [HE GAVE UP GRIHASTA AND DEDICATED TO VANPRAASTHA]. He gave up the Marriage to serve family and humanity.
BASICALLY, WE ARE SPIRITUAL BEINGS, EXPRESSING A DIVINITY UNIQUE TO EACH OF US.
Each of us have gems in SERVING, WORK and RELATIONSHIPS plus promotion of GOOD HEALTH. The PURITY (SATTWIC) is overshadowed by the high level, attractive comforts of our MODERN WORLD! EACH PIECE OF A JIG-SAW PUZZLE IS IMPORTANT: SO, OUR LIFE!
DEAR LORD, THE JOY YOU PROVIDE BY VARIETIES TRULY DEMONSTRATE UNIQUENESS IN EACH! IT IS OUR UNIQUE QUALITY TO SHARE OURSELVES, TO MAKE THIS WORLD A BETTER PLACE!
