Distraction Before Destruction

Senile Dementia & Alzheimer’s disease seem to take the forefront of discussion these days as our populations are living longer. 

Many medical and social conditions, if treated properly, can prevent the early onset of dementia. HYPERTENSION, DEPRESSION, DIABETES, OVERWEIGHT, SLEEP DEPRIVATION, HEARING LOSS, SMOKING, MALNUTRITION, LACK OF EXERCISE, SUICIDE and SOCIAL CHAOS, have all been known as factors. We have been creating our own destruction by indulging in our bad habits. 

As a man thinketh in his heart: 24 Hours a day, so is he/she. CAN WE GET BALANCED IN OUR THINKING AND OUR BEHAVIOR?

If we can train our minds and bodies to take a break from time to time we can achieve much. 

The world is loaded with LIFESTYLE DISTRACTIONS, which, if taken as it floods, can wash us away. Technical distractions are sucking the life blood of young and old. My ten grounding behaviors to counteract these distractions are: SMILING, LAUGHING, LOOKING AT THE WORLD’S BEAUTIES, LISTENING TO OUR FAVORITE MUSIC, PRAYING, MEDITATING, VIGOROUS EXERCISES, BODY CARE, REST, AND GIVE GOD THANKS. 

Excessive distraction can be our destruction. 8 – 12 hours work per day can achieve much when properly focused, however, technical distractions can prevent productivity and cause added stress. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! We can live healthy lives, and balance working, right in our backyards. TAKING LITTLE DOSES OF ANY OF THE LIFESTYLE CHANGES CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE. DO NOT GET CARRIED AWAY HOWEVER! ALL PLAY AND NO WORK CAN BE DESTRUCTIVE TO OUR MONEY OR SUSTENANCE. 

TO PREVENT DESTRUCTION – we may need to be distracted. Our minds can lead to PSYCHOSOMATIC, SOMATOPSYCHIC, and OBSESSIVE DISORDERS. THINKING 24 HOURS PER DAY to find solutions can destroy us unless we are willing to take a break. When we LET GO AND LET GOD, we are doing lots for ourselves and the world.

IMPORTANT MEDICAL FACT: Although excessive cholesterol can be dangerous by blockages in the pipeline (CARDIAC, CEREBRAL, AND PERIPHERAL VASCULAR), it has been found that TOO LOW CHOLESTEROL CAN AFFECT THE PROPER FUNCTIONING OF THE BRAIN, JOINTS AND VITAL ORGANS – hence the need for OMEGA FATTY ACIDS AND ENOUGH CHOLESTEROL FOR SEX HORMONES AND OTHERS. WE DESTROY OURSELVES BY OVEREATING AND OVERTREATING.

HOLIDAY may be expensive. But just as effective – CHANGE OF SCHEDULES, FEW MINUTES OF MEDITATION, TIDYING UP OUR ROOMS AND DISHES, and having a refreshing bath – can make a world of good. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. 

We can simply say that we can maintain and sustain strength by distraction – mind and body, by destroying the bad things (clean up the mess and purify our thoughts) to bring in a RENEWED YOU AND ME. 

BY GOD’S GRACE WE CAN TRANSFORM OUR LIVES BY INTRODUCING A LITTLE DISTRACTION!
